Fabiola Vilchez is President and Executive Director of Sister Cities of Los Angeles, Inc. (SCOLA). SCOLA is a diplomatic platform for the City of Los Angeles that works to promote cooperation and direct engagement with global partners on issues of mutual interest and through city to city relationships. Ms. Vilchez was Deputy Director of International Trade at the Office of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti where she was responsible for advancing international trade policy and economic development for the Los Angeles region. Ms. Vilchez led trade missions to Auckland, New Zealand and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She also played an important role in organizing missions to China, Korea, Japan and Mexico. Prior to joining Mayor Garcetti's Administration, Ms. Vilchez was Director for Neighborhood and Community Services at the Office of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Ms. Vilchez has a diverse background, and has worked for former Los Angeles Council members serving in various capacities, including: legislative affairs, housing, transportation, business, environmental affairs and immigration policy. As a graduate of UCLA, Ms. Vilchez earned a Bachelor's Degree in World Arts and Cultures and a Master's Degree in Urban Planning, with a concentration in Regional and International Development.
